With the stress of today’s economic situation, it is extremely important

to realize the power of your thoughts and how your thoughts affect your health.
Eckhart Tolle says it perfectly…
“Although the body is very intelligent, it cannot tell the difference between an actual situation and a thought. It reacts to every thought as if it were a reality. It doesn’t know it is just a thought.
To the body, a worrisome, fearful thought means ’I am in danger,’ and it responds accordingly, even though you may be lying in a warm and comfortable bed at night. The heart beats faster, muscles contract, breathing becomes rapid. There is a buildup of energy, but since the danger is only a mental fiction, the energy has no outlet. Part of it is fed back to the mind and generates even more anxious thoughts.
The rest of the energy turns toxic and interferes with the harmonious functioning of the body.”
Today’s Tip
Living in the present moment is one way to help destress instantly. To master this life skill, practice the exercise below everyday for the next week.
First, be aware! Last week, I did a Stress Management workshop and asked the group to describe what they just had for lunch and how it tasted. Most people realized they did not taste their food, but had only inhaled it. Hmmm! Does this sound like you?
During your next meal…describe what you are eating by using all your senses. What does it smell like? What does it sound like…crunchy? What does it taste like? What does it look like?
Describe on paper what you are eating with as many details as possible.
Are you feeling less stressed? Are you amazed as to how delicious the food tasted? This is also a great way to lose weight because you will eat less.
