<div>to realize the power of your thoughts and how your thoughts affect your health.</div>
<div><strong>Eckhart Tolle says it perfectly&#8230;</strong></div>

<p>&#8220;Although the body is very intelligent, it cannot tell the difference between an actual situation and a thought. It reacts to every thought as if it were a reality. It doesn&#8217;t know it is just a thought.</p>
<div>To the body, a worrisome, fearful thought means &#8217;I am in danger,&#8217; and it responds accordingly, even though you may be lying in a warm and comfortable bed at night. The heart beats faster, muscles contract, breathing becomes rapid. There is a buildup of energy, but since the danger is only a mental fiction, the energy has no outlet. Part of it is fed back to the mind and generates even more anxious thoughts.</div>
<div><em>The rest of the energy turns toxic and interferes with the harmonious functioning of the body.&#8221;</em></div>

<div><em><strong>Living in the present moment</strong></em> is one way to help destress instantly. To master this life skill, practice the exercise below everyday for the next week.</div>
<div><strong>First, be aware!</strong> Last week, I did a Stress Management workshop and asked the group to describe what they just had for lunch and how it tasted. Most people realized they did not taste their food, but had only inhaled it. Hmmm! Does this sound like you?</div>
<div><strong>During your next meal</strong>&#8230;describe what you are eating by using all your senses. What does it smell like? What does it sound like&#8230;crunchy? What does it taste like? What does it look like?</div>
<div>Describe on paper what you are eating with as many details as possible.</div>
<div><strong>Are you feeling</strong> <strong>less stressed?</strong> Are you amazed as to how delicious the food tasted? This is also a great way to lose weight because you will eat less.</div>

<p><strong>Here are 3 tips on how to enjoy the holidays with more ease, less stress and a lot more fun: </strong><br />
<strong><br />
1. Practice good self-care:</strong> Eat right and get enough rest. Do something special for yourself everyday, even if you only have 10 minutes to spare. Do what makes you feel relaxed; take a walk, listen to your favorite music, have a massage. I suggest doing something as simple as periodically stretch and take a few deep breaths.<br />
<strong><br />
2. Plan Ahead:</strong> Create a workable schedule to get everything important done. Ask yourself: Does this really need to be done today? Would anyone be affected if I didn’t do it? If the answer is ‘yes’ to either question, then it is a priority. Take care of the priority items first, and then do other less important things.</p>
<p><strong>3. Learn to say &#8220;no&#8221;:</strong> It really is OK to say &#8220;no&#8221; to things you don’t have time for or don’t have an interest in participating. If you’re saying yes because you’re worried about what someone might say, you’ll feel resentful. Be true to yourself. Say &#8220;maybe&#8221; and then check in with yourself before you make the decision.</p>
